“Aletheia” is the Greek word for truth — literally, the state of no longer being hidden. That is the whole of our work: taking what an insider knows and independently developing it into a form that a court, a regulator, or a newsroom can rely on.
OUR STORY
Founded to do the research others skip.
Aletheia Research grew out of years of forensic work identifying fraud in federal loan, grant, and procurement programs. Time and again, the cases that held up were the ones where an insider’s firsthand knowledge was independently developed and corroborated — not the ones cobbled together from whatever was already out there.
So we built a method for developing them. Aletheia is a dedicated forensic research and diligence practice: the client brings the target, the question, or firsthand knowledge, and we bring a disciplined method for turning it into independently sourced, litigation-ready proof.
OUR MISSION
Make wrongdoing legible — and reporting it survivable.
Our mission is to give people who see fraud a credible, documented path to reporting it, and to reduce the personal cost of coming forward. The stronger and more independent the documentary record, the less any single person has to shoulder.
We measure ourselves not by how much we flag, but by how much of what we flag holds up.
